 When she first reached out, she told me she’d started a new fitness and health journey — and wanted a way to document it that felt powerful, not just a number on a scale. This session was her “before.” From the moment she walked into the studio, there was this quiet excitement in the air. She admitted she was nervous (almost everyone is at first), but that faded quickly once we started shooting. The studio is cozy and full of personality — and she took it all in with that mix of nerves and curiosity that always turns into laughter within minutes. By the time we moved into her second outfit, something clicked. The nerves were gone. The woman who started the day feeling uncertain was now moving with confidence, leaning into poses, smiling for real — not for the camera, but for herself. When she first reached out, she told me she’d been thinking about doing a boudoir session for years. Turning 50 — with grown kids and even grandbabies — had stirred something in her. She said, “I just want to do something for myself.” You could hear it in her voice — she was ready, but "still nervous as hell." She later admitted she almost canceled before she even got here. Her words were, “I was scared shitless.”  But she showed up anyway — and that’s where the magic started. The first few minutes in the studio, you could feel the tension in her shoulders. We talked, we laughed, and little by little, the walls started to come down. Once she realized this space was hers >> judgment-free, empowering, and safe — she started to relax. And that’s when she came alive. There was this moment — I remember it clearly — when I showed her the back of the camera, and her whole expression changed. Her jaw dropped.  Some of you might recognize this beauty because she’s basically a veteran around here — she’s been in front of my camera four times now, and every single session is somehow even more fun than the last. She first came to me after seeing one of her friends’ sessions, and she said, “I saw her pictures and absolutely wanted to do it for myself.” I love hearing that because it’s exactly how this whole thing works — one woman takes the leap, and suddenly her friends realize, wait… I want to feel like that too. 2019 2020 When I asked how she felt walking in versus walking out, she said she always comes in feeling “fantastic — lots of fun nervous energy,” and then leaves feeling totally excited knowing what’s waiting in her gallery. 2024 This time, we shot outside , and she said it was hands down her favorite part. “It’s a whole lot of fun to play around outside in lingerie 😆 I can’t wait to do it again!” Her favorite look this round? I’ve totally been slacking on the blog lately, but honestly? I’ve been busy kicking ass and doing things I’ve always wanted to do. I finally got to shoot boudoir on the beach ! Me and my best friend went to Florida, rented a house right on the water, and I threw out a little model call just because… why not? I’ve always wanted to do on-location shoots, and boudoir on the beach? I mean, HELL YEAH . It ended up being such a win — three gorgeous, confident women, waves crashing, sun setting, and me living my dream behind the camera while technically on vacation. It was relaxing, fun, and honestly, straight-up magic.
