Client Spotlight: 80 Pounds Later...

Image
She had already done this twice before. So when she came back for her third session with me, she knew exactly what she was getting herself into. She knew we would laugh. She knew we would have fun. She knew she could trust me. But this time felt a little different. She had recently lost 80 pounds, something worth celebrating all on its own. But even after that huge accomplishment, she was still struggling with the way she saw her body. Her stomach was still the thing she was most self-conscious about, and losing the weight hadn't magically made those insecurities disappear. She decided it was time to do something for herself again. Walking into the studio that day, she was nervous. Not because she didn't trust me, but because she wondered how I could possibly photograph the things she saw as imperfections. "I feel like there is no way she can hide the imperfections I see on my body." And then we started shooting. One of her favorite parts of coming back is that we al...

Client Spotlight: Confidence Isn't One and Done

Image
People often think a boudoir session is something you do once. You check it off your bucket list, hang your favorite photo on the wall, tuck your album away, and that's that. But sometimes confidence isn't something you find once. Sometimes it's something you come back for when life tries to convince you that you've lost it. I first photographed this incredible woman in 2023. She came to me after spending years being torn down, hoping to find a little piece of herself again. Like so many women, she walked into the studio nervous. Not because she didn't trust me, but because she didn't trust the way she saw herself. Then came the moment I love most during every session. I turned the back of the camera around and asked, "Do you want to see?" She said yes. That single image changed everything. She couldn't believe the woman looking back at her was actually her. It wasn't edited. It wasn't filtered. It was simply her. That moment became a prom...

Client Spotlight: She Stopped Waiting and Started Slaying

Image
Some women walk into the studio excited. Others walk in terrified. She was nervous from the moment she arrived, and honestly, who could blame her? For years, she had spent so much energy trying to make herself smaller. Like so many women, she believed that if she could just lose the weight, then maybe she'd finally feel comfortable in her own skin. After being diagnosed with PCOS and endometriosis, things started to make a little more sense. The struggle she had been carrying wasn't because she wasn't trying hard enough. It was simply the body she had been given. Instead of continuing to fight against it, she made a decision that changed everything. She was going to learn to love it. That decision led her to Boudoir by Kadee. She admitted that one of her biggest fears before booking was that she wouldn't love her photos. She worried she wouldn't know how to pose or that she'd somehow be doing it "wrong." But after reading so many client stories and se...

Client Spotlight: Why She Finally Said Yes

Image
Some women book a boudoir session because they're celebrating something. Others are checking something off their bucket list. For this client, it was a little bit of both. She had always wanted to do a boudoir session, but what finally pushed her to book with me was my style. She told me she fell in love with my natural light photography, and once she realized that was my specialty, she was sold. Even after booking, she had one big fear. She loved every image she had seen in my portfolio, but she wasn't sure she would feel the same way about her own. That's something I hear all the time. It's easy to believe everyone else can look beautiful in photos, but somehow we convince ourselves it won't happen for us. The day of her session, she walked into the studio excited but also hoping she would love what we created together. Before we even started shooting, she commented on how inviting the studio felt. My goal has always been to make women feel like they're hangin...

Client Spotlight: Confidence Was the Best Reward

Image
Some women book a boudoir session because they're celebrating a birthday, an anniversary, or a milestone. For this client, it was something even more personal. She had always wanted to do a boudoir session but never felt confident enough. After reaching her goal weight, she decided it was finally time. This session wasn't for anyone else. It was her reward to herself, and I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate. Like so many women, she came in excited... but definitely a little nervous. She told me she spent weeks shopping for outfits and hours getting everything ready the day before. When she walked into the studio, though, those nerves didn't last long. Since we'd already talked several times before her session, she said she felt right at home as soon as she arrived. One of my favorite parts of the day was just hanging out with her. We laughed constantly, swapped stories, and before either of us knew it, the hours had flown by. It never feels like work when ...

Client Spotlight: Seeing Herself in a Whole New Way

If there is one thing I hear all the time, it is, “I’ve always wanted to do this, but…” There is always a reason to wait. The nerves. The fear. The excuses. And honestly? That is exactly why I love sharing these Client Spotlight stories — because these women are not models. They are real women who feel nervous too… and still choose themselves anyway. This sweet client had always wanted to book a boudoir session but needed a little push to finally make it happen. With some encouragement from her sister-in-law, she decided it was finally time to stop overthinking and just go for it. But if you think she walked into the studio feeling cool, calm, and confident — think again. Like so many women, the nerves hit hard before her session. In fact, she admitted she was so nervous the morning of that she “wanted to puke.” (And honestly, if you have ever felt that way before doing something out of your comfort zone… you are definitely not alone.) The beautiful thing about boudoir is that confide...

Client Spotlight: A Boudoir Experience That Started With a Gift

Image
Sometimes women book a boudoir session because they are celebrating something big. Sometimes it is after heartbreak, weight loss, a birthday, or simply deciding they are ready to see themselves differently. And sometimes? Someone else sees the magic in them before they can fully see it themselves. That was the case for this gorgeous client. What makes her story so special is that she did not even book this experience for herself at first. Her boudoir session was actually a gift from a friend, a friend who believed she deserved to feel confident, beautiful, and empowered. And honestly? That friend was absolutely right. Like so many women who walk through my studio doors, there was excitement mixed with uncertainty leading up to her session. That is exactly why I spend so much time making sure my clients feel prepared. She shared that the Empowerment Packets gave her everything she needed to feel ready for the day, which is always my goal. I never want you walking into your ses...
