Client Spotlight: Reclaiming Confidence, One Frame at a Time

When she first reached out to me, she was at a crossroads in her life—a new chapter beginning. Her children were grown, the house was quieter, and for the first time in a long time, she was asking, “What do I want to do for me?”

She told me she had always wanted to do a boudoir session. Not out of vanity—but because she genuinely loved being in front of the camera. This time, though, it felt different. This time, it was about honoring herself.

Leading up to her first shoot, she admitted she was super nervous. She described standing in front of the mirror, picking herself apart—like so many of us do—worrying about her “mom bod” and unsure how she’d pose or feel in front of the lens.

But that nervousness? It didn’t last long.

She said what surprised her most was just how comfortable she felt once we started. “Kadee’s energy is magnetic,” she told me (and yes, I blushed a little when she said it!). “You feel like you’re catching up with a best friend you haven’t seen in years. There’s laughter, ease, and suddenly—it’s just fun.”

During her session, something shifted. She felt sexy. Empowered. Free. And that sense of comfort and confidence carried over so deeply that she came back for a second session. (Yes, queen!) In the first, she worked with the classic sheet poses—something soft and elegant that let her cover the parts she was still learning to love. In the second? She went all in with the swing and the spreader bar—and even discovered she’s way more flexible than she thought. We both cracked up when I accidentally left her hanging there mid-pose to check the back of the camera. 😂

When she saw her final images, she said, “I couldn’t believe that was me. I was in awe. I finally felt beautiful in my own skin.”

One of her favorite moments was when I’d give her a pose and she’d try it—then fall into a moment where she forgot about the pose altogether. That’s where the magic happened. “It’s a great reminder for me to just be. Not to try so hard.”

That, to me, is the heart of boudoir.

This experience helped her truly learn to love herself. She told me, “Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes. The world is just ugly.” And honestly, I couldn’t have said it better.

To anyone on the fence, she says: “Just do it! Every woman should. It helps with your self-image, your confidence, your self-love. And don’t do it for anyone else but yourself. It’s okay to be selfish this time.”

She now has photos, memories, and moments she can always look back on. More than anything, she gave herself permission to take up space, feel powerful, and celebrate the incredible woman she already is.

And I was lucky enough to be the one behind the camera.
