Client Spotlight: Rediscovering Herself Through Boudoir — A Story of Healing, Confidence, and Faith

One of the best parts of what I do is getting to know the women who walk into my studio — every single one has a story. Some come in to celebrate themselves. Others come to heal. And sometimes… it’s both.

This amazing woman had actually wanted to do a boudoir shoot years ago, back when her late husband was still alive. But like so many of us, there was hesitation. “We didn’t want someone looking at me,” she said. But after he passed, she decided to finally do it — and made sure to get the photo she had always imagined giving him.

Leading up to the session, she told me she was extremely nervous. She didn’t think any of the photos would turn out good. Her confidence was low and she felt unsure of how it would all go. (Totally normal, by the way — most women feel this way!)

But here’s the beautiful part: she said what surprised her most was how quickly she felt comfortable. Once we started shooting and I showed her a few photos on the back of the camera, she said to herself, “Who is that girl? She is hott.” That right there — that shift — is what makes my heart explode.

Her favorite part? Getting her album. Seeing the final result. Realizing that she can look sexy. That she is sexy.

She was shocked when she saw the finished images. Excited. And already thinking about booking her next session.

Two of her favorite shots were ones that really reflected who she is. One of her sitting on the edge of the bed reading a book — a perfect nod to her job as a librarian and her love of reading. And another of her wearing her future husband Michael’s green dress shirt, that one meant a lot. She ended up giving him that shirt and the boudoir album as a gift that Christmas. Heart. Melting.

Since that session, she says she walks taller. Feels more confident. Like she knows exactly who she is — and who created her.

She’s told a lot of women about her experience. “I walked in feeling small, not beautiful, and unsure if anyone could prove different. I left feeling like a badass. Like I could take on anything. Sexier than I’ve ever felt before.”

Her story is powerful. She’s lived through so much — an abusive marriage, heartbreak, deep loss. But she kept going. She found her way back to herself. She reconnected with her faith. And now? She’s engaged again, to an incredible Godly man. She told me she believes God brought us together for a reason — that He puts people in our paths when we need them most.

And honestly? I believe that too.

This work isn’t just about pretty pictures. It’s about healing. Reclaiming your power. And remembering that you are a whole, beautiful, radiant woman — inside and out.

I’m so honored to be part of her journey. And I’m cheering her on every step of the way.
