Client Spotlight: Seeing Herself for the First Time
This session meant a lot.
After losing 130 pounds, she knew her body had changed. Clothes fit differently, her shape was different — but confidence didn’t magically show up with the weight loss. Inside, she was still waiting for the day she could actually enjoy what she saw.
She struggled with that for a long time. So much so that she had already put a deposit down for surgery. The people closest to her kept telling her she was already beautiful, that she didn’t need to change a thing. Friends said the same. But she couldn’t see it.
So, she booked a boudoir session with me <3Not because she felt confident, but because she wanted to see what everyone else was seeing.
Walking into the studio, she was surprised. It wasn’t intimidating or over-the-top. It felt warm, welcoming, and comfortable. As she looked around, she could picture herself in the space — moving, interacting, just being her. The nerves started to fade.
Then came the moment that changed everything.
After the first set of images, I let her peek at the back of the camera. She stood there in shock. For the first time in her life, she thought, I’m beautiful.
Nothing retouched. Nothing “fixed.” Just her, exactly as she was in that moment. That’s when she finally relaxed. That’s when the session shifted from nerves to fun. She still carries that feeling with her.
When she saw her full gallery, it wasn’t just one image that stood out. It was image after image — her personality, her joy, her sex appeal — all right there. She wasn’t looking at a beautiful woman on the screen.
She was looking at herself.
What started as a gift for someone else ended up being a gift she gave herself.
That confidence didn’t stay in the studio. Today, those images hang on her bedroom wall. Where she once picked herself apart, she now sees her journey. Her strength. Her beauty. She doesn’t say she looks good “for almost 54.” She says she looks damn good. Period.
Her favorite images are the ones in a black jacket. A look that shows who she really is underneath the professional version of herself the world usually sees — confident, daring, sexy, and fully alive.
The whole day felt less like a photoshoot and more like being pampered with friends. Music playing. A mimosa in hand. Laughter. Comfort. Just a few hours where she got to be taken care of.
To the woman who’s nervous or waiting for the “right time,” her advice is simple:
Don’t walk — run. You don’t need to fix anything first. You don’t need to lose more weight. You don’t need to wait. You are worthy right now.
Every woman deserves this at least once. Not just for the photos >>> but for the reminder of who she is. And fair warning… once you do it, you might already be thinking about the next one.
She already has it booked for this summer.
>>> This is why I love sharing these stories.
