Client Spotlight: From a 2-Hour Drive to “Who Is That Sexy Beast?”

When this gorgeous woman first reached out to me, boudoir was not exactly something she had been dreaming about for years.

Actually, she was talked into it 😂

One of my past clients had done a session with me and convinced her she needed to book one too. Around the same time, her boyfriend’s birthday was coming up, they had been together for over seven years, and she had officially run out of gift ideas. Since he had mentioned wanting something like this before, she figured… why not?

So she packed up, grabbed her best friend, and made the two-hour drive to my studio.

Now here is the part I think so many women will relate to: she was nervous.

But not for the reason you might think.

She was not worried about being in lingerie. She was not nervous about hair and makeup or stepping in front of the camera.

She was worried the pictures would not turn out the way she imagined.

Honestly? I hear that ALL the time.

So many women walk in wondering if they are photogenic or secretly hoping we can get at least a few good photos. In fact, when she first arrived at the studio, she looked around and thought:

“Yeah… I could work with this. There has to be SOMETHING that turns out well here.” 🤣

And honestly? Fair.

But something shifted once we got started.

The nerves faded, the music was on, and before long we were laughing our way through the session like we had known each other forever.

She came in not really knowing what she wanted to do after the first few minutes, which is completely normal. Most women do not walk into my studio knowing how to pose or what will photograph best. That is my job.

And apparently, on this day, my job also included asking her if she could do a handstand against the wall 😂 Without hesitation, she confidently said yes.

Now according to her, she had absolutely no business saying yes, but thankfully her best friend was there to help us bring my vision to life—and somehow, we actually pulled it off.

Honestly, that moment sums up the entire energy of her session: playful, fun, a little chaotic, and somehow turning into magic.

We played with several different looks throughout the day, and she fully leaned into all the different sides of herself. The wings. A gorgeous green outfit. Some Harley-inspired looks for her boyfriend. Black lingerie that showed off those insanely long legs of hers.

One thing she loved most was seeing softness in herself.

She told me she does not usually see herself as a soft person, so getting to see playful expressions mixed with this softer side of herself was unexpected in the best way.

And then came the reveal.

My favorite part.

Because no matter how nervous someone is walking into their boudoir session, there is something so special about seeing women sit down and look at themselves differently.

The second she saw her images, she said:

“GODDAMN. WHO IS THAT SEXY SKINNY BEAST?! Oh right… that’s me.” 🤣

I mean… honestly, iconic.

But underneath the humor was something really important.

Confidence.

Not fake confidence.

Not “I’ll feel better when…” confidence.

Just the reminder that she is beautiful exactly as she is.

What I loved most about her experience was that even though this session started as a birthday gift for her boyfriend, somewhere throughout the day it became something for her too.

She described the atmosphere in the studio as fun, relaxed, chill, and all about her—something she admitted she does not often get in everyday life.

And I think that matters.

Women spend so much time taking care of everyone else, showing up for everyone else, and putting themselves last.

Sometimes you deserve a day where someone reminds you that you are beautiful, hypes you up, and helps you see yourself in a way you maybe have not in a really long time.

She booked this session shortly after turning 30 and joked that she had somehow convinced herself she was middle-aged (girl 😂 absolutely not), but she also realized something during this experience:

There is never a perfect time to do something for yourself.

Not when life slows down.

Not after you lose weight.

Not when confidence magically appears.

You just decide you are worth showing up for.

And if you are nervous about booking? She said it better than I ever could:

You will see versions of yourself you have never seen before, and you will leave feeling beautiful and sexy in an honest way.

To this sweet client—thank you for trusting me, making the drive, bringing your bestie, saying yes to my wild ideas, and reminding me exactly why I love doing this job.

And yes… I fully expect that album to still be getting pulled out in your “geriatric years” 😂
