Client Spotlight: Seeing Herself in a Whole New Way

If there is one thing I hear all the time, it is, “I’ve always wanted to do this, but…” There is always a reason to wait. The nerves. The fear. The excuses. And honestly? That is exactly why I love sharing these Client Spotlight stories — because these women are not models. They are real women who feel nervous too… and still choose themselves anyway.

This sweet client had always wanted to book a boudoir session but needed a little push to finally make it happen. With some encouragement from her sister-in-law, she decided it was finally time to stop overthinking and just go for it.

But if you think she walked into the studio feeling cool, calm, and confident — think again.

Like so many women, the nerves hit hard before her session. In fact, she admitted she was so nervous the morning of that she “wanted to puke.” (And honestly, if you have ever felt that way before doing something out of your comfort zone… you are definitely not alone.)

The beautiful thing about boudoir is that confidence usually doesn’t show up before the session. It comes during it.

The moment she arrived at the studio, things started to shift. Instead of feeling awkward or uncomfortable, she felt welcomed and instantly at ease. The nerves slowly melted away, and something unexpected happened — connection.

One of the moments that stood out to her most had nothing to do with posing or lingerie. It was simply the experience of laughing, talking, and connecting with someone who started as a stranger but somehow felt familiar. That is one of my favorite parts of this experience too. We laugh, we hype each other up, and somewhere in the middle of it all, women start to relax and just be themselves.

And once she finally let go? Magic happened.

She especially loved the more intimate, feminine images and had so much fun incorporating the swing into her session — proof that stepping outside your comfort zone can actually end up being the most fun part.

Then came the moment every woman waits for: seeing the images for the first time.

And her reaction?

She absolutely loved them.

More importantly, this experience reminded her of something so many of us need to hear: just let go and go with the flow.

Because sometimes the version of yourself you have been needing to meet is on the other side of saying yes.

When asked what she would tell another woman who is nervous about booking a session, her answer was simple:

“Just do it!!”

And honestly, she said it best.

She believes every woman deserves to experience a boudoir session at least once because it allows you to see yourself differently — through a lens of confidence, beauty, and strength that we often forget to give ourselves.

To the women sitting on the fence, wondering if they are confident enough, photogenic enough, or brave enough: this is your reminder that most of my clients felt the exact same way before walking through my doors.

And almost every single one leaves saying, “I wish I would’ve done this sooner.”
