Client Spotlight: Why She Finally Said Yes

Some women book a boudoir session because they're celebrating something. Others are checking something off their bucket list. For this client, it was a little bit of both.

She had always wanted to do a boudoir session, but what finally pushed her to book with me was my style. She told me she fell in love with my natural light photography, and once she realized that was my specialty, she was sold.

Even after booking, she had one big fear.

She loved every image she had seen in my portfolio, but she wasn't sure she would feel the same way about her own. That's something I hear all the time. It's easy to believe everyone else can look beautiful in photos, but somehow we convince ourselves it won't happen for us.

The day of her session, she walked into the studio excited but also hoping she would love what we created together. Before we even started shooting, she commented on how inviting the studio felt. My goal has always been to make women feel like they're hanging out with a friend instead of walking into a scary photo shoot.

It didn't take long before we were laughing. We joked back and forth the entire session, and somewhere between posing, fixing hair, and making each other laugh, all those worries she had carried in with her disappeared. She later told me she never once felt uncomfortable.

Those are my favorite sessions.

She was actually my last appointment of the day, but she said she never would have known. She told me my energy never faded and that I was completely present the entire time. Hearing that meant the world to me because every woman deserves to feel like she's the most important person in the room while she's here.

One of my favorite things she shared was that she almost didn't want to leave. We had so much fun shooting and chatting that the session flew by. Those moments are just as memorable to me as the final images.

Then came the best part.

The woman who worried she might not love her own photos ended up proving herself completely wrong.

When I asked what she would tell another woman who was nervous about booking, her answer made me smile.

"Don't sit on it. Once you're in the studio, you're going to feel the power and energy of the fun. Kadee will find your best angles without even trying."

And for the women waiting until they lose weight before they book?

Her answer was even better.

"Girl please. Kadee will make you look skinny just from the angle. If you put it off now, you may never get the opportunity. She did amazing working around my own insecurities."

That is exactly why I do what I do.

You don't have to walk into my studio feeling confident. You don't have to know how to pose. You don't have to lose twenty pounds first. My job is to guide you, hype you up, find your best angles, and create images you'll actually love.

She ended her questionnaire with a message that made me laugh and blush all at once.

"You're the baddest bitch for boudoir. Never quit. The world of boudoir wouldn't be the same experience without you."

I don't know about that, but I do know this. Watching a woman walk in hoping she'll love a few photos and leave knowing she made the right decision never gets old.

And that's a story I'll never get tired of being part of.
