Client Spotlight: A Wedding Gift That Turned Into a Gift for Herself
She came into the studio with a pretty special reason for booking a boudoir session.
She was getting married and wanted to give her fiancé something unforgettable to open on their wedding morning.
Sweet, right?
But what she didn’t expect was that somewhere between hair and makeup, a mimosa, trying poses she had never imagined herself doing, and trusting me to guide her through the whole thing, she would end up giving herself a pretty incredible gift too.
Confidence.
Before her session, her biggest hesitation was being bare in front of the camera. And honestly, that’s one of the most common fears I hear from women who have never done boudoir before.
Because let’s be real. Standing in front of a camera in very little clothing when you’re used to hiding behind clothes, kids, work, life, and everything else can feel a little terrifying.
But during our phone consultation, she said she immediately felt comfortable with me.
She described my energy as positive, chill, motivating, and excited. Basically, exactly what I want a woman to feel when she talks to me for the first time.
Once she arrived at the studio, the nerves didn’t stand a chance.
Hair and makeup.
A mimosa.
And then we got to work.
By the time the camera came out, she was excited and ready to have some fun.
And one of the things that surprised her most was just how open she became to trying new poses and embracing her body.
She wasn’t worrying about whether she was doing it perfectly.
She wasn’t standing there picking apart every little thing she wished she could change.
She was just there.
Present. Relaxed. Open.
And somewhere along the way, she started seeing herself differently.
She told me there was a moment when she realized just how comfortable she felt in her own body and how willing she was to trust the process.
That moment right there?
THAT is why I love boudoir.
Because the photos are amazing, yes.
But watching a woman go from nervous and unsure to completely owning herself is the part that gets me every single time.
She even admitted that, as a rookie, she needed some direction when it came to posing, shooting, and positioning.
And girl, that's exactly what I'm here for!
You don't need to know how to pose.
You don't need to know what to do with your hands.
You don't need to know how to look sexy in front of a camera.
That's my job.
Your job is to show up, trust me, and let yourself have a damn good time.
And when her gallery arrived?
Her exact words were: “It was like Christmas!”
Honestly, I don't think I could have asked for a better reaction.
She went into this experience wanting to create something incredibly special for her fiancé to open on their wedding morning.
But along the way, she created something for herself too.
A reminder that she is beautiful.
That she is sexy.
That she doesn't need to wait until her body looks different to celebrate it.
And when I asked what she would tell another woman who is waiting to lose weight or change something before booking, her answer was perfect:
“Embrace your body how you are.”
Because women are really good at nitpicking ourselves.
We find the things we don't like.
The things we want to change.
The things we think need to be smaller, tighter, smoother, or somehow different before we're allowed to feel beautiful.
But your best version isn't some future version of you.
She's the woman you are right now.
The woman who is still growing.
Still changing.
Still becoming.
And she deserves to be celebrated along the way.
So if you've been thinking about booking a boudoir session but you're nervous...
If you've never done anything like this before...
If you're waiting until you lose the weight...
If you're convinced you won't know what to do...
Take her advice.
Just do it. Embrace yourself.
Because when you see those images for the first time, you might just realize you've been underestimating yourself this whole damn time.
And maybe your gallery will feel like Christmas too. 😉
