Client Spotlight: A Wedding Gift That Turned Into a Gift for Herself

Image
She came into the studio with a pretty special reason for booking a boudoir session. She was getting married and wanted to give her fiancé something unforgettable to open on their wedding morning. Sweet, right? But what she didn’t expect was that somewhere between hair and makeup, a mimosa, trying poses she had never imagined herself doing, and trusting me to guide her through the whole thing, she would end up giving herself a pretty incredible gift too. Confidence. Before her session, her biggest hesitation was being bare in front of the camera. And honestly, that’s one of the most common fears I hear from women who have never done boudoir before. Because let’s be real. Standing in front of a camera in very little clothing when you’re used to hiding behind clothes, kids, work, life, and everything else can feel a little terrifying. But during our phone consultation, she said she immediately felt comfortable with me. She described my energy as positive, chill, motivating, and excited. ...

Client Spotlight: Do It Before You Feel Ready

Image
Sometimes you don't realize how long you've been putting yourself last until you finally decide to do something that's just for you. That was exactly where this beautiful woman found herself when she decided to book her boudoir session. She had gotten so used to being everything for everyone else that she had forgotten what it felt like to do something simply because it made her feel good. She wanted to step outside of her comfort zone, reconnect with herself, and have a moment that wasn't about being someone's mom, partner, daughter, friend, or anything else. It was just about her. Of course, deciding to do something for yourself doesn't mean the insecurities magically disappear. Her biggest fear was her body. She worried about how she would look in the photos and whether she'd actually be able to enjoy the experience without picking herself apart. She had a list of things she wished were different and wondered if she would spend the entire session focusin...

Client Spotlight: “Whoa... That’s Me”

Image
Sometimes the women who walk through my studio doors with the most nerves are the ones who end up surprising themselves the most. This beautiful mama came into her boudoir session nervous about being photographed, especially when it came to her body after having two kids. She wasn't sure she was ready to put herself in front of the camera. But she decided to do it anyway. And I'm so glad she did. From the beginning, I wanted her to know that there was absolutely nothing she needed to fix before stepping in front of my camera. She didn't need to lose weight, change her body, or become some different version of herself first. She just needed to see what I was already seeing. She told me that my words of encouragement and reminders to embrace herself helped her move forward with her session. And while she walked into the studio nervous but excited, it didn't take long for her to settle in. She loved the vibe of the studio, we laughed, we told stories, and before long, she ...

Client Spotlight: Just Take the Damn Pictures

Sometimes you don't need to wait for some big milestone to decide it's time to do something for yourself. Sometimes you just finally feel comfortable in your body and think, okay, I'm ready. Let's do this. That was this client's starting point. She had been thinking about taking the leap, she'd seen the women I've photographed, and she loved the images she was seeing. But there was still one thing holding her back. She was worried she was going to be awkward. Walking into the studio, she was nervous. But apparently, I only had about two minutes to work with that nervousness because once she settled in, those feelings disappeared pretty quickly. She described the studio as comfortable, super chill, and laid back. And apparently I'm pretty chill too, which I'll happily take as a compliment. Then we started shooting. What surprised her the most wasn't how she looked. It was how comfortable she felt. No awkwardness. No spending the whole session wond...

Client Spotlight: 80 Pounds Later...

Image
She had already done this twice before. So when she came back for her third session with me, she knew exactly what she was getting herself into. She knew we would laugh. She knew we would have fun. She knew she could trust me. But this time felt a little different. She had recently lost 80 pounds, something worth celebrating all on its own. But even after that huge accomplishment, she was still struggling with the way she saw her body. Her stomach was still the thing she was most self-conscious about, and losing the weight hadn't magically made those insecurities disappear. She decided it was time to do something for herself again. Walking into the studio that day, she was nervous. Not because she didn't trust me, but because she wondered how I could possibly photograph the things she saw as imperfections. "I feel like there is no way she can hide the imperfections I see on my body." And then we started shooting. One of her favorite parts of coming back is that we al...

Client Spotlight: Confidence Isn't One and Done

Image
People often think a boudoir session is something you do once. You check it off your bucket list, hang your favorite photo on the wall, tuck your album away, and that's that. But sometimes confidence isn't something you find once. Sometimes it's something you come back for when life tries to convince you that you've lost it. I first photographed this incredible woman in 2023. She came to me after spending years being torn down, hoping to find a little piece of herself again. Like so many women, she walked into the studio nervous. Not because she didn't trust me, but because she didn't trust the way she saw herself. Then came the moment I love most during every session. I turned the back of the camera around and asked, "Do you want to see?" She said yes. That single image changed everything. She couldn't believe the woman looking back at her was actually her. It wasn't edited. It wasn't filtered. It was simply her. That moment became a prom...

Client Spotlight: She Stopped Waiting and Started Slaying

Image
Some women walk into the studio excited. Others walk in terrified. She was nervous from the moment she arrived, and honestly, who could blame her? For years, she had spent so much energy trying to make herself smaller. Like so many women, she believed that if she could just lose the weight, then maybe she'd finally feel comfortable in her own skin. After being diagnosed with PCOS and endometriosis, things started to make a little more sense. The struggle she had been carrying wasn't because she wasn't trying hard enough. It was simply the body she had been given. Instead of continuing to fight against it, she made a decision that changed everything. She was going to learn to love it. That decision led her to Boudoir by Kadee. She admitted that one of her biggest fears before booking was that she wouldn't love her photos. She worried she wouldn't know how to pose or that she'd somehow be doing it "wrong." But after reading so many client stories and se...

Client Spotlight: Why She Finally Said Yes

Image
Some women book a boudoir session because they're celebrating something. Others are checking something off their bucket list. For this client, it was a little bit of both. She had always wanted to do a boudoir session, but what finally pushed her to book with me was my style. She told me she fell in love with my natural light photography, and once she realized that was my specialty, she was sold. Even after booking, she had one big fear. She loved every image she had seen in my portfolio, but she wasn't sure she would feel the same way about her own. That's something I hear all the time. It's easy to believe everyone else can look beautiful in photos, but somehow we convince ourselves it won't happen for us. The day of her session, she walked into the studio excited but also hoping she would love what we created together. Before we even started shooting, she commented on how inviting the studio felt. My goal has always been to make women feel like they're hangin...

Client Spotlight: Confidence Was the Best Reward

Image
Some women book a boudoir session because they're celebrating a birthday, an anniversary, or a milestone. For this client, it was something even more personal. She had always wanted to do a boudoir session but never felt confident enough. After reaching her goal weight, she decided it was finally time. This session wasn't for anyone else. It was her reward to herself, and I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate. Like so many women, she came in excited... but definitely a little nervous. She told me she spent weeks shopping for outfits and hours getting everything ready the day before. When she walked into the studio, though, those nerves didn't last long. Since we'd already talked several times before her session, she said she felt right at home as soon as she arrived. One of my favorite parts of the day was just hanging out with her. We laughed constantly, swapped stories, and before either of us knew it, the hours had flown by. It never feels like work when ...

Client Spotlight: Seeing Herself in a Whole New Way

Image
If there is one thing I hear all the time, it is, “I’ve always wanted to do this, but…” There is always a reason to wait. The nerves. The fear. The excuses. And honestly? That is exactly why I love sharing these Client Spotlight stories — because these women are not models. They are real women who feel nervous too… and still choose themselves anyway. This sweet client had always wanted to book a boudoir session but needed a little push to finally make it happen. With some encouragement from her sister-in-law, she decided it was finally time to stop overthinking and just go for it. But if you think she walked into the studio feeling cool, calm, and confident — think again. Like so many women, the nerves hit hard before her session. In fact, she admitted she was so nervous the morning of that she “wanted to puke.” (And honestly, if you have ever felt that way before doing something out of your comfort zone… you are definitely not alone.) The beautiful thing about boudoir is that confide...

Client Spotlight: A Boudoir Experience That Started With a Gift

Image
Sometimes women book a boudoir session because they are celebrating something big. Sometimes it is after heartbreak, weight loss, a birthday, or simply deciding they are ready to see themselves differently. And sometimes? Someone else sees the magic in them before they can fully see it themselves. That was the case for this gorgeous client. What makes her story so special is that she did not even book this experience for herself at first. Her boudoir session was actually a gift from a friend, a friend who believed she deserved to feel confident, beautiful, and empowered. And honestly? That friend was absolutely right. Like so many women who walk through my studio doors, there was excitement mixed with uncertainty leading up to her session. That is exactly why I spend so much time making sure my clients feel prepared. She shared that the Empowerment Packets gave her everything she needed to feel ready for the day, which is always my goal. I never want you walking into your ses...

Client Spotlight: From a 2-Hour Drive to “Who Is That Sexy Beast?”

Image
When this gorgeous woman first reached out to me, boudoir was not exactly something she had been dreaming about for years. Actually, she was talked into it 😂 One of my past clients had done a session with me and convinced her she needed to book one too. Around the same time, her boyfriend’s birthday was coming up, they had been together for over seven years, and she had officially run out of gift ideas. Since he had mentioned wanting something like this before, she figured… why not? So she packed up, grabbed her best friend, and made the two-hour drive to my studio. Now here is the part I think so many women will relate to: she was nervous. But not for the reason you might think. She was not worried about being in lingerie. She was not nervous about hair and makeup or stepping in front of the camera. She was worried the pictures would not turn out the way she imagined. Honestly? I hear that ALL the time. So many women walk in wondering if they are photogenic or secretly hopin...

Client Spotlight: She Just Wanted to Feel Sexy Again

Image
She told me she booked the session because she just wanted to feel sexy again. After having her son almost three years ago, she said she hadn’t felt that way at all. She felt uncomfortable in her body, not confident, not attractive, just not like herself anymore. And honestly, I hear that more than people think. She showed up excited but nervous, which is exactly how it usually goes. You could feel both right away. But the second she walked into the studio, everything shifted. She lit up. Grabbed a mimosa, started looking around, smiling, taking it all in. She kept saying how much she loved the space and how excited she was to get started, and that’s when I knew this was going to be a good one. We started shooting and she did what so many women do at first, overthinking a little, wondering what to do with her body, questioning if she was doing it right. And then she just let go. She trusted me, let me guide her, and leaned into the process. There is always a moment where it cli...

Client Spotlight: A Mom of Three Who Wanted to Feel Like Her Again

Image
After three kids, a full decade of marriage, and years of taking care of everyone else, she hit a point that so many women understand but don’t always say out loud. She wanted to feel like herself again. Not just mom. Not just wife. Just her. She told me she booked her session because she wanted to feel beautiful and sexy again and honestly she wanted the attention. I loved that. We don’t say that part enough, but it’s real. Leading up to her session she was excited but definitely nervous too. That mix is completely normal. What I loved was that she leaned into it anyway. She went through the prep guides, started looking at images, and before she even walked into the studio something had already started to shift for her. By the time she got there she felt comfortable. Not stiff or awkward, just relaxed and ready. We had already connected before her shoot and it made a difference. It didn’t feel intimidating, it felt like a space where she could just show up and be herself. The m...

Client Spotlight: Celebrating the Body That Created Life

Image
There’s something really special about photographing a woman during pregnancy. Not just because of how beautiful it is—but because of everything her body is doing in that moment. This client didn’t book her session because she felt “perfect.” She booked it because she wanted to celebrate the journey . She told me she wanted to embrace everything her body was going through, to do something for herself, and yes… also have a little fun surprising her husband later. 😉 But like most women, the nerves showed up before she ever walked through the door. She had no idea what to expect. Didn’t know how it would feel. Wasn’t sure what she was walking into. And then she got to the studio and had that moment so many women have: “Damn… I’m really about to do this.” But here’s the thing >>> those nerves didn’t last long. Between chatting, getting pampered with hair and makeup, and just settling into the space, everything started to shift. The energy in the studio was fun, support...
